Iron Frontier

★★★★☆ 4.2 Editor rating

Iron Frontier drops you on a contested map and asks you to build, defend, and slowly expand. It looks like a hundred other strategy games at a glance, but the resource balancing is tighter and the AI actually probes your weak spots. We learned to stop leaving gaps in our walls very quickly.

The campaign missions are the strongest part. Each one throws a specific puzzle at you, like limited units or a timed defense, and solving them feels earned. The tutorial is a bit long-winded, so push through the first hour before you judge it.

Multiplayer exists and works fine, though we mostly stuck to the single-player content. If you enjoy planning a layout and watching it hold under pressure, there's a lot to chew on here.
