How we decide a mobile game is worth your storage space

How we decide a mobile game is worth your storage space

People sometimes ask how we pick which games to cover, and the honest answer is that it starts with someone on the team actually enjoying it. We don't have a spreadsheet ranking algorithm. We have a group chat and a lot of opinions.

The first filter is whether a game respects your time. Endless loading screens, aggressive nagging to come back, tutorials that last twenty minutes, all of that counts against a game before we even reach the fun part.

Then we look at whether there's something to actually write about. A game can be fine and still not need a guide. We're most useful when there's real depth, a tricky boss, a clever system, a difficulty curve worth explaining.

We also try to spread across genres. If we've done three puzzle games in a row, we deliberately go looking for a racer or a strategy title next, because our readers don't all like the same things.

None of this is scientific, but it's honest, and every game we cover is one at least one of us genuinely put hours into.
